Hoffman, joyce

Ethelyn “Joyce” (Miller) Hoffman, 83, of Dittmer died April 11, 2020, at Delmar Gardens in Fenton. Mrs. Hoffman was a homemaker and caregiver. She was a member of Morse Mill Baptist Church and the Big River Saddle Club and was an accomplished square dancer. Born July 19, 1936, in Irving, Kan., she was the daughter of the late Forrest Jarvis and Hazel Esther (Davis) Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years: Elmer Roland Hoffman, whom she married Nov. 25, 1954.

She is survived by two daughters: Cindy L.(William) Bechtold of High Ridge and Candy L. Sinclair of Troy; two sons: George R. (Becki) Hoffman of De Soto and William E. Hoffman of Dittmer; a brother: Robert (Janet) Miller of New Mexico; 12 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by two brothers: Norman A. and William S. Miller; and two sisters: Roseanne E. Miller and Janice C. (Miller) Mentgen.

A funeral service was held April 15 at J.B. Smith Funeral Home in Fenton, officiated by Pastor Dave Evans. Burial was in the Cedar Hill Baptist Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements were under the direction of J.B. Smith Funeral Home.
