Ethel Irene (Meade) Belmar, 77, of Leasburg, formerly of Cuba., Mo., and Arnold, died Monday, April 3, 2017. Mrs. Belmar was a homemaker and a member of Faith Chapel in Cuba. She loved working in her garden, doing crafts and taking care of her family. Born March 21, 1940, in Bussey, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Earl Leland Meade and Dollie Irene McGee Meade. She was preceded in death by her husband: Willard Belmar. The two were married on Dec. 23, 1955, in St. Louis.
Mrs. Belmar is survived by three daughters: Patricia (Jeff) Theros of Leasburg, Deanna (Jeff) Bailey of Huntingdon, Tenn., and Karen Vass of Austin, Texas; three brothers: Orvil (Fern) Meade, Bill Meade and Frank (Beverly) Meade; one sister: Alice (Bob) Mendoza of Cuba; three sisters-in-law: Lois Belmar of Wildwood, LaDonna Turnbough of Imperial and Saundra (Bill) Penovich of Arnold; three brothers-in-law: Ronald (Laura) Belmar of Des Arc, Gerald Belmar of Mokane and Richard Essmueller of Kimmswick; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She also was preceded in death by one son-in-law: Roger Vass; one sister: Doris Meade; three sisters-in-law: Charlotte Essmueller, Dorothy Meade, and Caren Meade; and two brothers-in-law: Robert Belmar and Richard Turnbough.
Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at Hutson Funeral Home, 407 S. Franklin St., in Cuba, with Pastor Larry Buettner officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation and/or the American Cancer Society.
