Ermal Mae Green-Portell, 81, of Festus died Sept. 29, 2017, at Scenic Nursing and Rehab Center in Herculaneum. Born April 27, 1936, in Rives, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth (Serratt) and James McCall. She was preceded in death by two husbands: Edward Green and Stanley Portell.
She is survived by two daughters: Debbie (Don) Stein of Festus and Dianna (Jerry) Bush of Guatemala; a sister-in-law: Ann McCall of Alabama; five grandchildren: Matthew (Kara) Stein, Heather Cox, Megan (Nik) Lambert, Logan (Essie) Bush and Madeline Bush; and a great-granddaughter: Adrienne Cox.
She was preceded in death by a son: Edward Green II; two sisters: Hazel Dzadon and Nelma (the late Harold) Mills; and a brother: Jake McCall.
A memorial gathering is scheduled at 10 a.m. and a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main, in Festus, officiated by Pastor Jerry Bush. Burial is in the Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
