Katinsky, Eli

Eli Anthony Katinsky, 19, of Festus died Sept. 10, 2025. Eli was known as a bright, curious and creative young man who had a love for technology. He enjoyed playing computer games, building with Legos, playing chess and exploring the ins and outs of computers and phones. His passion for learning extended from his work at CPR Phone Repair, where he was a loved and valued employee, to his studies at Jefferson College, where he was pursuing a degree in information technology. A proud and dedicated member of the Festus High School theater and band programs, he was also known to bring joy, talent and heart to everything he did. With his vibrant spirit and magnetic personality, he mentored many younger students and was always ready to jump in and lend a helping hand. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, sharp intellect and kind spirit. Born June 22, 2006, in St. Louis, he was the son of Anthony Allen and Shante Marie (Matheny) Katinsky of Festus.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister: Addison Katinsky of Festus; a brother: Colton Katinsky of Festus; his maternal grandmother: Linda Matheny of De Soto; paternal grandfather: Carl (Melodie) Katinsky of Arnold; paternal grandmother: Sherry (Roger) Povich of House Springs; his dog: Tiger; a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins; and many friends.
