Eileen Johanna “Sis” Herrell, 86, of Imperial died June 19, 2017, at Crystal Oaks Skilled Nursing in Crystal City. Mrs. Herrell was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Imperial, where she was a member of the Ladies’ Sodality and a volunteer cafeteria worker. Born Feb. 10, 1931, in Festus, she was the daughter of the late Catherine (Basler) and Lambert F. Langelier. She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert Paul “Tuffy” Herrell.
She is survived by two daughters: Pam Moss of Imperial and Donna Portell of Festus; three sons: Dennis (Diana) Herrell of Festus, Robert D. Herrell of Imperial, and Kevin (Andrea) Herrell of Imperial; a sister: Kathleen “Kathy” (the late James) Ellis of Festus; two brothers: John Langelier of Festus and Larry (Jerry) Langelier of Arnold; a sister-in-law: Becky Langelier of Festus; seven grandchildren: Nicholas Herrell, Lucas Herrell, John Herrell, Lindsey (Matt) LaPlant, Dena Moss, Zach Moss, and Alyssa (Kristopher) Palmer; and 10 great-grandchildren: Kylee, Jordyn, and Jersey Herrell; Mackenzie, Arienne, Avari and Camryn LaPlant; Dabrein Moss; and Makiah and Onyx Bisch.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Earl F. (the late Venita “Betty”) Langelier and William Ray “Bill” Langelier.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 22, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main Street, in Festus. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 23, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 6020 Old Antonia Road, in Imperial, officiated by Father Daniel Shaughnessy. Burial is in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to Sister Christine’s Food Pantry or the Society of St. Vincent de Paul at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Imperial. Arrangemetns are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
