Edward F. White, 93, of Festus died Nov. 2, 2016, at Festus Manor Care Center in Festus. Mr. White was a retired machinist for PPG Industries and a member of Second Baptist Church in Festus. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. Born Jan. 17, 1923, in Jefferson County, he was the son of the late Eva L. (Burge) and Charles A. White. He was preceded in death by two wives: Bertha Mae (Ogle) White and Julia L. (Horton) White.
He is survived by a daughter: Teresa L. Hunt of Springfield; three sons: James (Sue Ellen) White of St. Charles, Robert L. White of Potosi and Donald P. (Mickey) White of St. Louis County; a stepdaughter: Beverly Viehland of St. Louis County; two stepsons: Randal (Ann) White of St. Louis County and Rocky (Joyce) White of Kansas City; six grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Jeanette Santschi and Esther Liles; four brothers: Leroy White, Arthur White, Louis White and Ernie White; and a stepson: Monte White.
Visitation is scheduled at 11 a.m. and a funeral service at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Second Baptist Church, 723 Horine Road, in Festus, officiated by the Rev. James Waymire. Burial is in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
