Evelyn Bernice “GG” Haverstick, 91, of De Soto died May 28, 2014, at Baisch Nursing Center south of De Soto.
Mrs. Haverstick was a charter member of Primrose Baptist Church in Bonne Terre, where she taught children’s Bible school and Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed hunting mushrooms, gardening and gardening.
Born June 18, 1922, in Bonne Terre, she was the daughter of the late Tom and Martha (Yahn) Rawson.
Her husband, John Haverstick, preceded her in death.
She is survived by two children: Shirley (Jim) Ketcherside and John (Geneva) Haverstick; a daughter-in-law: Rosalie Haverstick; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Ruby Roberts and Mabel Akins; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 30, at Primrose Baptist Church, 9308 Hwy. E in Bonne Terre. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 31, at the church, with the Rev. Randy Murphy officiating. Burial will follow at the Primrose Baptist Church cemetery.
