Dorothy Margaret Weiss, 92, of Festus died Oct. 28, 2021. Mrs. Weiss worked a number of jobs, including at Brophy's Place at Jefferson College and as a real estate agent for Kyle Realty. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crystal City. She enjoyed sewing, traveling, especially to Hawaii and spending winters in Florida, but most of all she loved the time spent with her family and friends. She was born Dec. 10, 1928, in Stratford, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Arlie and Nora (Schumer) Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband: Firman E. Weiss.
She is survived by three children: Neil (Sharon) Weiss of Festus, Bob (fiance Allison Vaughn) Weiss of Ballwin and Pam (Mark) Steighorst of Barnhart; eight grandchildren: Laura (fiance Gary McGregor) Weiss, Christy (Dave) Russell, Blake (Lindsay) Steighorst, Brooke Steighorst, Blair (Heather) Steighorst, Josh Hulsey, Lindsay Weiss and Kyle (Melissa) Weiss; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by seven siblings: Ed ( the late Margaret) Miller, Joe (the late Ruby) Miller, Lonnie Miller, Virgie (the late Valley) Schuh, Anna Mae (the late Jim) Duncan and two infant brothers; and a great-grandson: Christian Russell.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins, in Festus. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, at the funeral home, immediately followed by burial in the Weiss Family Cemetery.
