Dorothy Koch, 93, of De Soto died July 14, 2021, at St. Joe Manor in Bonne Terre. Mrs. Koch retired as the office manager at Smitty’s Home Decorating. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and Circle No 659 Daughters of Isabella. Born Aug. 28, 1927, in Richwoods, she was the daughter of the late Theresa (Coleman) and Vincent S. Schutte Sr.
She is survived by her husband: Charles E. Koch of De Soto; three children: Richard S. “Rick” (Brenda) Koch of De Soto, Michael C. (Mary) Koch of De Soto and Victoria Koch (Robert “Junior”) Johnston of Old Mines; a brother: Vincent Schutte Jr. of Peoria, Ariz.; two grandchildren: Brian (Heather) Koch and Melissa (Danny) Brown; and four great-grandchildren: Matt, Joe, Brian “Bri” and Drake.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: John A. (the late Drewanna) Schutte and Joe (Virginia survives of De Soto) Schutte.
Visitation is scheduled from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, July 18, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 19, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 504 S. Third, in De Soto, officiated by Father Alexander Anderson. Burial is in the Calvary Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to Adopt-An-Angel c/o St. Rose of Lima Catholic School in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
