Dorothy E. Burns, 96, of Festus died Jan. 13, 2021. Mrs. Burns was a member of the United Baptist Church of Lone Cedar where she belonged to the Ladies’ Circle. She was the daughter of the late James and Bessie Stewart.
She is survived by four children: Gary (Patrick) Burns, Donna (Robert) Patterson, Connie (Terry) Hawkins and Bessie (Richard) Wampler; six grandchildren: Deanna, Debra, Marcia, Joe, Adam and Ashley; two siblings: James Stewart and Lois Dinkins; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; and numerous other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by five siblings: Sadie Ellis, Marie Fitzgerald, Muriel Stewart, Mae Decker and Virginia Scott.
Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. until a funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Ellington Memorial Cemetery in Ellington. Arrangements are under the direction of Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home.
