Doris Ann Metcalf, 81, of Herculaneum died Nov. 9, 2020, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Metcalf was a clerk for Brown Shoe Co. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Pevely and the Red Hat Society. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Born Nov. 17, 1938, in Washington, she was the daughter of the late Golda Dora (Angell) and Carroll Walters.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Richard Dale Metcalf.
She is survived by two sons: Robert (Jessica) Metcalf of Herculaneum and Roy (Rhonda) Metcalf Sr. of Advance; three daughters: Annette Door of St. Clair, Marie Metcalf of Advance and Suzanne (Dan) Portell of Branson West; 14 grandchildren: Jennah (Jeff) Jahn, Nicholas Portell, Lucas Portell, Cailey Metcalf, Taylor Metcalf, Roy Metcalf Jr., James Huskey, Amy Huskey, Brittany Klemm, Stuart Klemm, Jessica Door, Steven Metcalf, Chris Metcalf and Daniel Metcalf; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a son: Richard Metcalf Jr.; a granddaughter: Stephanie Metcalf; and two siblings: Lucille Dobsch and Herbert Walters.
A graveside service was held Nov. 11 at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Pevely. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
