Donna Ruth Canada, 85, of Festus died March 6, 2016, in Festus. Mrs. Canada was the former owner of Festus Flower Shop. She was a member of Elks Lodge 1721 Ladies Auxiliary, the Twin City Optimist Club, the Lions Club and the Twin City Chamber of Commerce board, and was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening. Born Feb. 7, 1931, in Paris, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Pleasant John and Lurlin (Hancock) McCubbin. She was preceded in death by her husband: Tom Canada.
She is survived by one son: Mark (Susan) Canada of Crystal City; two siblings: Donald Jay (Carolyn) McCubbin of Paris, Ark., and Etha Jane (Richard) Parker of Mt. Crawford, Va.; and two grandchildren: Andrew Canada of Chicago, Ill., and Phillip Canada of Iowa City, Iowa.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, March 10, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins, in Festus. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 11, at Mahn Twin City Chapel. Burial is in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the Fisher House, 111 Rockville Pike, #420, Rockville, MD 20850; or at fisherhouse.org.
