Donald Lee Camp, 79, of Oakville died May 8, 2016, at de Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis County. Mr. Camp was born Dec. 6, 1936, in St. Louis, the son of the late Pearl Link and Paul L. (the late Josephine) Camp. He attended McKinley High School and studied architectural drafting at Meramec Community College. After 25-plus years working with his hands, he attended the Dale Carnegie Institute and became a successful salesman for various companies before opening his own window distributorship. Mr. Camp was a member and deacon at First Baptist Church of Arnold, where he served in the bus ministry, and enjoyed bowling, golf, hunting, fishing, and playing cards at family gatherings.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years: Doris J. Camp, whom he met in Baytown, Texas, and married on Sept. 24, 1956; six children: Larry (Brenda) Flowers of Baytown, Texas, Pamella Flowers of Oakville, Jari Lynn Haag of High Ridge, Linda Reeb of Hillsboro, Don (Patty) Camp of Costa Rica and Todd Camp of Oakville; three sisters: Susan Sargent, Kathryn Link-Tallo and Shari Anderson; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Paul R. Camp.
A memorial gathering is scheduled for 11 a.m. and a memorial service for 1 p.m. Friday, May 13, at Chulick Funeral Home, 5611 S. Grand, in St. Louis, officiated by Pastor Gene Spurgeon. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorials may be made to
