Donald H. Armbruster Sr., 80, De Soto

Donald H. Armbruster Sr., 80, of De Soto died Feb. 28, 2023, at his home. Mr. Armbruster worked for Quintin’s Carpet and Tile in De Soto for 25 years before purchasing the business and then operated it, along with his nephew, for nine years before retiring. He was a member of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church and mowed the church lawn and took care of repairs around the church. He also was treasurer of the Mt. Olive Cemetery Association since 1967. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling and golfing. Born May 14, 1942, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Irene B. (Whaley) and Henry William Armbruster.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Margaret (Whitehead) Armbruster of De Soto; two children: Joanna L. (Mark) Thomas of St. Louis County and Donald H. (Amy) Armbruster Jr. of De Soto; a sibling: Ronald N. Armbruster of De Soto; five grandchildren: A.J. (Kim) Reichel of Festus, Brad (Krystal) Reichel of De Soto, Chad (Alicia) Reichel of De Soto, Hannah (Logan) Armbruster and Steven (Dakota) Dorsey; and eight great-grandchildren: Alyssa A., Samantha J., Addilynn N., Colton A. and Blake A. Reichel, Alexis Baumgardner, Emersyn I. Armbruster and Leon Dorsey.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law: Alan C. Reichel; and a sister-in-law: Jolene Armbruster.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 11, at Mt. Olive UMC, 13675 Mt. Olive Road, in De Soto, with Pastor Robin Byron officiating. Memorials may be made to Serenity Hospice Care, 5272 Flat River Road, Park Hills, 63601. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
