Dieter Christopher Strathmann Sr., 79, of Imperial died March 18, 2019, at his home. Mr. Strathmann was a printer and a member of Life Church in St. Louis. Born Sept. 23, 1939, in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, he was the son of the late Hermann and Hildegard (Maluck) Strathmann.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years: Robin F. (Siemens) Strathmann of Imperial; five children: Rhonda (Brian) Bennett of Imperial, Wade (Christy) Strathmann of Menifee, Calif., Kenny (Sonia) Strathmann of Festus, Dieter (Jennifer) Strathmann Jr. of Crestwood and Heidi (Ben) Yadao of Romeoville, Ill.; 15 grandchildren: Alyssa Bennett and Drake Bennett of Imperial; Charissa (Nathan) Goode of Red Deer, Alberta, Canada; Ethan Strathmann, Collin
Strathmann, Ladd Strathmann and Paige Strathmann of Menifee, Calif.; Vanessa (Daniel) Strathmann of Festus; Amelia Strathmann and Trey Strathmann of Crestwood; Sean Armstrong, Caleb Yadao, Nathan Yadao, Brandon Yadao and Owen Yadao of Romeoville, Ill.; and two great-grandchildren: Rowan and Theren Good of Red Deer, Alberta.
He was preceded in death by two siblings: Herman Strathmann and Alice Kaasch.
Visitation will be at 5 p.m. followed by a celebration of life service at 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 22, at Life Church, 1416 Larkin Williams Road, in Fenton, officiated by Josh Shelton. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or to Paralyzed Veterans of America.
