Dennis Lee Smith, 51, of Festus died Sept. 22, 2018, at St. Louis University Hospital. Mr. Smith was a grounds and maintenance caretaker at Living Faith Church and a volunteer at the Living Faith Food Pantry. He was a personal assistant and crusade director for Rev. Benny Hinn for several years and president of Healing Faith Today Ministries in Hermantown, Minn. He enjoyed football and baseball, being a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the University of Alabama Crimson Tide, and liked playing PlayStation games. Born Feb. 24, 1967, in St. Louis, he was the son of Pastor Pat Brinkley-Smith-Jones of Festus and the late Pastor Robert “Bob” Smith, and the stepson of Dan Jones of Festus.
In addition to his mother and stepfather, he is survived by two brothers: Chad Smith of Festus and Bryan Smith of Park Hills; a sister: Dee Dee (Kevin) King of Farmington; a special aunt: Donna Brown of Festus; four children: Jacob Smith Amsden of Festus, Justin Smith Amsden of Festus, Jasmine Smith Amsden of Festus and Jayda Smith of Alberta, Canada; and a special friend: Dorothy Wickstrom of Duluth, Minn.
A celebration of life was held Sept. 25 at Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus, officiated by the Rev. Jack Harris and Bishop Ronnie Webb. Burial was in Peaceful Ridge Mausoleum in De Soto. Memorials may be made to Encounter Recovery Services, 2170 Buck Creek Road, Festus, 63028. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
