David “Pete” Stuart Davidson, 92, of De Soto died Dec 5, 2020, in St. Louis. Mr. Davidson served in the U.S. National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserve, performing active duty in the Berlin Crisis as a tactical expert in the role of a Warrant Officer. He was an entrepreneur who owned and operated Davidson Electric. His outdoor Christmas light display was famous in De Soto and viewed by generations of families in the area. He enjoyed photography and amateur “ham” radio communications. He was a De Soto Public Library Board Trustee, De Soto City Cemetery Board Member and volunteer videographer for the De Soto High School athletic department. Born March 13, 1928, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Stuart Pope and Edith (Mason) Davidson. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years: Clara A. (Cook) Davidson, whom he married Nov. 19, 1948.
He is survived by a daughter: Jaquelyn Marie (Robert Edward) Hoyt; two half sisters: Terri (Stephen Wilson) Davidson and Patricia (Lenny) Connor; two grandchildren: James Stuart (Ashely Nicole) Linderer and Sarah Kathryn (Shane Russell) Spencer; four great-grandchildren: Meloray, Madrianna, Aidan and Bella; and three step-grandchildren: Bet, Bobbette and Brenda and their families.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 12, at De Soto Farmers’ Market Pavilion, 520 North Main St., in De Soto, followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m., officiated by the Rev. Darlene Payne. Memorials may be made to the De Soto City Cemetery, 17 Boyd St., De Soto, 63020, to support the perpetual care fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
