David L. Trent, 75, of Arnold died Aug. 16, 2022, at Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County. Mr. Trent served for more than 20 years in the Army, retiring as a sergeant first class. He then worked at Scott Air Force Base for 30 years, retiring as a security manager. During his younger years, he enjoyed working on cars and in his later years, he liked family genealogy. He was a perfectionist in both his work and hobbies. Born Nov. 26, 1946, in Henderson, Ky., he was the son of the late Dorothy E. Robertson/Gardner Trent and Henry L Trent.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years: Saim of Arnold; three children: David L Trent Jr. of Cedar Hill, Amy Loehr of Olympia, Wash., and Kimberly Campbell of New Mexico; nine siblings: Richard H. (Patricia) Trent of Norfolk, Va., Gregory A. Trent of St. Louis, Stephen J. (Sandra) Trent of Henderson, Ky., Timothy J. (Debra) Trent of Bellevue, Neb., Jeffrey P. (Joy) Trent of Des Arc, Christopher P. (Carrie Witt) Trent of Arnold, Janice M. Roe of Springfield, Beverly J. (Don) Thornsberry of Arnold and Teresa E. (Paul) Miller of St. Louis; a brother-in-law: Mark Feldmann of Dardenne Prairie; four grandchildren: Christopher, Carson, Lilyan and Alexia Jordan; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by four grandparents: Mose R. and Millie Mae (Minton) Trent, Walker L. Robertson and Marie G. Gardner; a step-grandfather: Thomas S. Long; a sister: Susan Doretha Trent Feldmann; a sister-in-law: Charlene (Greg) Trent; and a brother-in-law: Sam Roe.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, officiated by Brother Corey Hedge. Burial with full military honors will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home.
