David Hume Puhi, 73, of Barnhart died July 21, 2019, in Tunica, Miss. Mr. Puhi was a retired printer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was of the Christian faith. Born July 7, 1946, in Kohala, Hawaii, he was the son of the late Mammie Puhi.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years: Nancy (Arras) Puhi of Barnhart; two children: Pamela (Michael) Hughe of Lampe and Christina (Tim) Kennon of Herculaneum;
four siblings: Sylvia Ngar of Monticello, Ark., Willy (Kwaj) Perez Jr. of Kohala, Hawaii, Leina (Carter) Carvalho of Waimea, Hawaii, and Wendy (Jeffrey) Fernandez of Kohala, Hawaii; and four grandchildren: Brennan and Cody Hughes of Lampe and Makensie and Mason Kennon of Herculaneum.
He was preceded in death by two siblings: Frank Puhi and Keith Puhi.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, July 26, in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks, 2900 Sheridan Road, in St. Louis County. Memorials may be made to the Semper Fi Fund.
