Daniel Robert Hilkemeyer, 68, of Eminence died July 1, 2015, at his home. Mr. Hilkemeyer, who attended Fox High School, worked at various jobs around the country, including as a doorman at the Rusty Springs Club in St. Louis in the late 1970s and early 1980s, as the warehouse manager at Sarstedt in California in the mid-1980s and as the brewmaster for Buffalo Bill’s in Hayward, Calif. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Shriners, a third-degree master Mason, a member of the National Rifle Association and was a volunteer firefighter in Eminence. He enjoyed hiking, mountain biking, fishing and watching wildlife. Born Dec. 10, 1946, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Severin and Helen Hilkemeyer.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years: Brigitte (Peters) Harris; two sons: Tim Wonish of Pacific and Gene (Denise) Seal  of Troy, Ill.; three brothers: Stephen D. (Ethlynn Tinney) Hilkemeyer of Marysville, Ill., Paul R (Linda) Hilkemeyer of St. Louis and Dave (Julie) Hilkemeyer of Godfrey, Ill.; three grandchildren: Owen, Trevor and Madelyn Seal of Troy, Ill.; six nieces and nephews: Gail Rainwater, Lisa Bosworth, Carmen Kempfer and Robert, Lee and Daniel Hilkemeyer.

Funeral services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Arrangements are under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home in Eminence.
