Daniel Charles Freund, 60, of Hillsboro died March 23, 2019, at his home. Mr. Freund was a bricklayer and a member of Bricklayers Local 1. He was an artist who enjoyed woodworking, painting and computer games, and he loved music and watching movies. Born Sept. 30, 1958, in Sheboygan, Wis., he was the son of Carol (Plocar) Swanson of De Soto and the late Ronald Freund.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife: Christine (Derleth) Freund of Hillsboro, whom he married July 7, 1977, in Hillsboro; two daughters: Crystal Freund and Courtney Freund, both of Hillsboro; a brother: Scott (Gerry) Reimer of House Springs; a half brother, Jimmy Meyer of Wisconsin; a stepbrother: Michael (Chris) Swanson of High Ridge; two stepsisters: Dody Swanson of St. Louis and Nancy (Rick) Kallaus of Chesterfield; a sister-in-law: Jane Meadows of Fenton; a niece: Andrea (Dayle) Olson of Fenton; two nephews: Bobby Meadows and Jarrod (Anna) Rogers of St. Charles; three great-nephews: Dayle Olson Jr. of Fenton, Hawkin Olson of Fenton and Avery Rogers of St. Charles; and dogs Toby and Charlie.
Funeral services and burial were private. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto.
