Daniel C. Zerwig, 67, of Ste. Genevieve died May 16, 2019, at his home. Mr. Zerwig was a member of VFW Post 2210, American Legion Post 150, the Zell Area Jaycees and Knights of Columbus 1037, all in Ste. Genevieve. He enjoyed hunting deer and turkey. Born Nov. 14, 1951, in St. Louis, he was the son of Rita M. Zerwig of Ste. Genevieve and the late Carl W. Zerwig.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 25 years: Carol A. (Naeger) Zerwig of Ste. Genevieve; three sons: Keith (Teresa) Zerwig of Hillsboro, Randall (Holly) Zerwig of Metter, Ga., and Mark (Shawna) Zerwig of Ste. Genevieve; one daughter: Stacey (Nick) Vitale of Ste. Genevieve; one brother: Bill (Geri) Zerwig of Ste. Genevieve; 10 grandchildren: Karley (Joe) Henderson, Bray and Jace Zerwig, Dustin and Abigail Zerwig, Nick (Laura) Zerwig, Isabella and Job Zerwig and Nicholas and Tristin Vitale; and five great-grandchildren: Addie and Nora Henderson, and Everly, Graham and Collins Zerwig.
He was preceded in death by three grandchildren: Dylan Zerwig, Austin Zerwig and Cody Zerwig; and one great-grandchild: Cohen Zerwig.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, May 20, at Basler Funeral Home, 685 Center Drive, in Ste. Genevieve. Visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 11824 Zell Road, in Ste. Genevieve, officiated by Messenger Jeffrey Knight. Military services will be performed by VFW 2210. Memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice. Arrangements are under the direction of Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve.
