Dale Emerson Tipton, 73, of Festus died Nov. 14, 2020, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Tipton was well known for his expertise in doing body work on cars for 40 years. He was a graduate of Festus High School, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the former First Presbyterian Church of Festus. He was a kind, caring, thoughtful man whose big heart matched his constant smile. He had a great sense of humor and a deep love for animals. Born Feb. 11, 1947, in Festus, he was the son of the late Selma Louise (Brooks) and Emerson P. Tipton.
He is survived by a son: Rodger (Jennifer) Tipton of Centennial, Colo.; a stepson: TJ Aubuchon of Festus; a brother: Robert (Becky) Tipton of Crystal City; a sister-in-law: Diana “Dee” (the late Richard) Tipton of Crystal City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family held private services. Burial was in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the food pantry at First United Methodist Church of Festus/Crystal City. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
