Clifford Nelson Middleton, 86, of De Soto died June 3, 2022, at his De Soto home. Mr. Middleton was a retired truck driver for Union Pacific Trucking Co. and a recipient of the Million Mile Award for having driven a million miles without an accident. He was born March 30, 1936, in Webb Township, the son of the late John and Edith (Jaynes) Middleton.
He is survived by his wife: Sue (McLane) Middleton of De Soto; two daughters: Lane (Rick) Rhoades and Carla (Jeff) Bunch, both of Valles Mines; four grandchildren: Jamie (Billy) Mueller, Angela (Ryan) Neidhard, Jaclyn Bunch and Rick (Heather) Rhoades Jr.; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers: George Ramey, Orville Ramey and Arthur Middleton; and a sister: Viola Middleton.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until a funeral service at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 9, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main St., in De Soto, officiated by Pastor Derek Jones. Burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
