Clarence H. Jansen, 86, of Arnold died March 1, 2016, at his home.
Mr. Jansen was a heavy equipment operator, retired from Operators Union Local 513 and a member of VFW Post 2593. He was a 36 year veteran of the Army, serving in World War II and in the Missouri National Guard 880th. He also was a former commander of the Twin City Civil Air Patrol.
Born, March 2, 1929, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Bernard and Frances Jansen.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Grace M. Jansen of Arnold; one son: Kenneth M. Jansen of Cedar Hill; four daughters: Annette (Ron) Campbell of Pevely, Karen (Zane) Morton of Hermann, Theresa Jansen of Arnold and Paula Jansen of St. Louis County; nine grandchildren: David Campbell of Pevely, Dawn (Bill) Street of Affton, Donovan Campbell of Fenton, Graham Morton of St. Louis, Kyle Houser of Columbia, Nicole Jansen of Arnold, Dawn Rethmeyer of Affton, Crystal (Rob) Twitchel of Arnold and Jake Rethmeyer of Arnold; 10 great-grandchildren: Mikayla, Alexis, Dawson, Jesse, Billy, Summer, Corey, Mason, Alyssa and Robbie; three brothers: Leonard, Richard and Walter; three sisters: Marcella Mackie, Marilyn Schaefer and Virginia Hawkins.
He was preceded in death by a son: Bill Jansen; and a sister: Celeste Jansen Keaty.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, March 6, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis County.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 7, at the funeral home. Burial will be at the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks.
