Clara Louise Easley, 87, of Hematite died Sept. 27, 2016, at Green Park Nursing Center in St. Louis County Mrs. Easley was a retired Hematite postmaster. Born Nov. 12, 1928, in Hematite, she was the daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth (Peppers) and Walter Boyer. She was preceded in death by her husband: Sanford Easley.
She is survived by five grandchildren: Heather (David) Schwantner of St. Louis, April (James) Joyce of St. Louis, Angela (Bill) Schmitt of Imperial; Michele (Matthew) Brown and Sandra Easley; and 12 great-grandchildren: Maura, Quinn and Vivian Joyce, Chase and Avery Schwantner, Aubrey and Gavin Schmitt, Cristiana Russo, Christian and Nicholas Brown, Ava Lewis and Ella Easley.
She was preceded in death by two sons: Stanley (the late Young) Easley and Randal Easley; two brothers: Howard (the late Sadie Lou) Boyer and Leslie (the late Birchlyn) Boyer; and a sister: Dorothy (the late Maurice) Lucas.
Visitation is scheduled at 10 a.m. and a funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main Street, in Festus, officiated by the Rev. Aaron Watkins. Burial is in the Hematite Methodist Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
