Cheryl L. Pica, 61, of De Soto died Dec. 15, 2017, while traveling overseas to visit family. Mrs. Pica co-owned and worked at Rick Pica Tax Preparation in De Soto for more than 25 years. She was a member of the Sunrise School PTO, the De Soto Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, the De Soto Amvets and the De Soto Elks. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and opened her home for many years to other children who called her “Mom.” She also enjoyed traveling and entertaining at her lake home in the Summer Set subdivision.

Born March 10, 1956, in Chicago Heights, Ill., she was the daughter of the late John and Rosalie (Malvestuto) Klyczek.

She is survived by her husband: Rick C. Pica of De Soto; three sons: Jordan R. (Catie) Massey of St. Charles, Ryan P. (Jessica) Finnin of Houston, Texas, and Richard C. Pica II of Portland, Ore.; two daughters: Bianca M. Pica of De Soto and Nicole L. Pica of Orange County, Calif.; five grandchildren: David, Riley, Rosalie, Noah and Beck; two brothers: Jim (Julie) Klyczek of Steger, Ill., and John Klyczek of South Chicago Heights, Ill.; her husband’s parents: Charlie and Myra Pica; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

A celebration of life was held Dec. 26 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in De Soto.
