Chelsea Suzanne Thurman, 27, of Crystal City died July 17, 2020. Ms. Thurman was generous and giving to friends and even strangers. She championed women’s causes, loved a good debate, and enjoyed running, playing beach volleyball and attending musicals at the Fox and Muny theatres. A graduate of Saint Louis University, simultaneously completing bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting, she had recently obtained her CPA license and was working as a senior auditor at EY. She was born Dec. 14, 1992, the daughter of Sandra L. Thurman of Crystal City.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a sister: Hayley A. Thurman of Fenton; her grandmother: Suzanne Thurman of Festus; and her beloved pets, Wenny and Ocean.
Funeral services and burial were private. Memorials may be made to the Open Door Animal Sanctuary or to Running Start. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
