Charles Spain Trask, 77, of Ste. Genevieve died May 14, 2017, at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital. Mr. Trask was a retired autoworker with Chrysler in Fenton and a member of UAW Local 110. He was born Dec. 19, 1939, in Ashley, Ill., the son of the late Virginia (Heckley) Harris and Wayne Trask.
He is survived by his wife: Palmie (Courtway) Trask; a son: Jonathan (Lynn) Trask of Festus; four daughters: Joan Trask of St. Louis, Jennifer (John) Steele of Valles Mines, Katherine Gross of High Ridge and Elizabeth (Mike) McCormick of Cedar Hill; three sisters: Mona Smith of Texas, Kerri (Gary) Hayes of Festus and Kate (Chris Anderson) Trask of Florida; a brother: David (Kathy) Trask of Festus; two sisters-in-law: Gail Trask of Indiana and Judie Trask of De Soto; his stepmother: Lorene Trask of Festus; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers Jerry Trask and Al Trask; and his stepfather: Edwin Harris.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main, in Festus. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 18, at the funeral home, officiated by Brother Don Bahr. Burial is in the Presbyterian/Methodist Cemetery in Festus. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
