Charles P. Porta, 88, formerly of Arnold, died Jan. 18, 2020, in a nursing home in St. Clair. Mr. Porta was retired. He had been a farmer, and he loved gardening. He also enjoyed visiting Ponderosa Steakhouse in Arnold.
Born March 17, 1931, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late John and Magdalena Porta.
He is survived by a daughter: Debra Rideout; three sons: Donald Porta, Charles J. (Dorothy) Porta and John Porta; five grandchildren: Stacy, Sarah (Dustin), Charles II (Megan), Bret (Mandy) and Amy; three great-grandchildren: Hailey, Dustin and Waylon; and several other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son: Richard Porta; and five siblings: Marie, Peter, Odelia, Herman and Joseph.
Funeral services were Jan. 21 at Fey Funeral Home in south St. Louis County. Burial was in Peaceful Meadows Cemetery in Hillsboro.
