Charles Michael “Mike” Sanders Jr., 42, of Festus died March 14, 2020, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Sanders was a 1996 graduate of Herculaneum High School and later attended Jefferson College. He was baptized at St. Andrews Methodist Church in De Soto. He loved his dog, Blu; enjoyed spending time on the computer, especially socializing on Facebook; and was an avid Star Wars and WWE wrestling fan. Born June 30, 1977, in St Louis, he was the son of Charles Michael "Chuck” Sanders Sr. of Festus and the late Jill Ann (Boyer) Sanders.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his grandmother and step-grandfather: Betty and Tom Black of Festus; an uncle: Mark Sanders of Festus; three aunts: Karen (Charles) Schultz of Festus, Janet Seachrist of Festus and Barb Boyer of Festus; his cousins: Gina Boyer-Otto of Festus, Kurt Boyer of Festus, Chris Eaves-Kraus of Festus, Matt Schultz of Festus, Greg Schultz of Festus and Kathy Eaves-Williams of Mesquite, Texas; an aunt: Heather Sanders; cousins Katie and Matt Sanders and Jeremy and Jason Dorlac; as well as several other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by two uncles: Tony Sanders and Ronald Boyer; an uncle: John Black; and three grandparents: Ray Sanders and Cecil and June Boyer.
A funeral service was held March 21 at Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus, officiated by Deacon Dan Raidt. Burial was in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
