Charles Jurkowski, 84, of Arnold died Dec. 12, 2020, at Mercy Hospital South. Mr. Jurkowski was a diesel mechanic. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Polish-American War Veteran Honor Guard, the Knights of Columbus and the Arnold Food Pantry. He was of the Catholic faith. Born Feb. 2, 1936, he was the son of the late Mary (Ochap) and Frank Jurkowski.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years: Marcella (Smugala) Jurkowski; four sons: Rick (Tonya), Gary (Lisa), Wayne (Brenda Spaulding) and Dennis (Valerie); nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by four siblings: Joe (Elizabeth), Ed (Dorothy), Tony (Gertrude) and Leonard (Rosella).
Services were held Dec. 16 at Kutis Funeral Home in south St. Louis County. Memorial Mass was held the same day. Private burial was held at the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks.
