Charles E. Heitmann

Charles E. Heitmann, 81, of Dittmer died Feb. 14, 2018, at SSM Health St. Clare Hospital in Fenton. Mr. Heitmann enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and volunteering at church. He was a member of St. Martin’s United Church of Christ in Dittmer. He loved spending time with his family. Born Aug. 31, 1936, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Dora (Wideman) and Oscar and Heitmann. He was preceded in death by his wife: Shirley (Helvey) Heitmann.

He is survived by three children: Steve (Cheryl) Heitmann of Festus, Patty (Pat) Capps of California and Denny (Martha) Heitmann of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three step-children: Debbie (Tim) Engle of Arnold, Randy (Sherri) Laws of Arnold and Tim (Tracy) Laws of House Springs; 20 grandchildren; 27 grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, at St. Martin’s UCC Christ, 7890 Dittmer Ridge Road, in Dittmer. Burial will be at St. Martin’s UCC cemetery in Dittmer.

Memorials may be made to the American Stroke Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas, 75231. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
