Carolyn R McDermott, 86, of Festus died July 30, 2021, at Crystal Oaks Nursing and Rehab Center in Festus. Mrs. McDermott enjoyed painting, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends. She was born Jan. 17, 1935, in Jackson, Mich., the daughter of the late Ivan and Juanita (Harrington) Bissonnette. She was preceded in death by her husband: Jerry McDermott.
She is survived by two sons: Jeffrey (Rebecca) McDermott of De Soto and Greg McDermott of Seattle, Wash.; two daughters: Cyndi McWhorter of St. Peters and Melissa (Brian) McCord of Ocala, Fla.; eight grandchildren: Jamie McWhorter, Enrique McDermott, Rashell McDermott, Noah McDermott, Colton White, Ryan White, Garrett McCord and Taylor McCord; numerous great-grandchildren; a brother: Bruce Bissonnette; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by three siblings: Roy, Harry and Bette Bissonnette.
Visitation is scheduled from 1 p.m. until a funeral service at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins, in Festus. Burial is in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Jackson, Mich.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
