Carol Ann (Schneider) McKay of Imperial died Jan. 6, 2021, at Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County. Mrs. McKay was a self-employed accountant and a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Imperial. She also was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Webster Groves Chapter, Daughters of the Union Veterans of the Civil War 1861-1865, Julia Dent Grant Tent 16, VFW and the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Her favorite pastime was genealogy research and travel. She was born July 22, 1945, in New London, Conn., the daughter of the late Rosemary Choate and Richard Schneider Sr.
She was preceded in death by her first husband: Daniel William Maxey Sr.
She is survived by her husband: Dennis R. McKay Sr; three children: Anne Marie Maxey, Daniel (Sherry) Maxey Jr. and Patricia (John) Midkiff; three stepchildren: Diana (Jon) Martens, Dennis (Stacy) McKay Jr. and Michael (Molly) McKay; 25 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; seven siblings: Richard (Manie) Schneider, Nancy (Carl) Adams, Gary (Nancy) Schneider, Rosemary (Grant) Williams, Mary DeMay, Deborah Schneider and Donald (Brenda) Choate; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by five siblings: Larry (Mary), Robert and Earl Schneider, Sue (John) Ayers and Donna Choate.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, at Kutis Funeral Home, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in south St. Louis County. A funeral service will be held at 8:30 a.m. followed by a church service at 9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Imperial. Burial is in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks, followed by a luncheon at Genesis Banquet Center, 2651 Telegraph Road, in St. Louis County. Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Joseph Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home.
