Capt. Carl Donald “Don” Brown, 65, of Lake Wales, Fla., formerly of Barnhart died Jan. 27, 2020, at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center. Mr. Brown was a U.S. Coast Guard certified captain, fisherman’s guide and Bassmaster. He owned Trophy Time Guide Service. He won several fishing tournaments and was featured on numerous fishing shows. Born April 11, 1954, in Hayti, he was the son of the late Mary (Hopper) and Carl Edward Brown.
He is survived by a companion: Sandy French of Lake Wales; a sister: Kathy (Phillip) Christman of Barnhart; a stepmother: Nellie Brown of Fredericktown; three nieces: Tina (Scot) Kester of Valles Mines, Liz (Jesse) Stetina of Hillsboro and Rachel (Jeff) Christman-McConville; a nephew: Zach (Rob Grindle) Christman; four great-nieces: Mandy (Dustin) Kester of Bloomsdale, Matilynn Kester of Rolla, Annabelle Stetina of Hillsboro and Lillian Stetina of Hillsboro; five great-nephews: Zane (Becky) Kester of Bonne Terre, Derek McConville of Cottleville, Justin McConville of Cottleville, Owen Stetina of Hillsboro and Leland Christman-McConville of Festus; a great-great-niece: Josie Sansoucie of Bloomsdale; and numerous family members and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
