Grayson, Bonnie

Bonnie Lavada (Covington) Grayson, 89, of Cedar Hill died May 4, 2019. Mrs. Grayson, graduated from high school in Arkansas and settled in House Springs after her  marriage. She was a longtime member of House Springs Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school and Vacation Bible School teacher, a member of the Women’s Missionary Union and a Bates Creek Camp counselor. She enjoyed keeping her yard and flower beds impeccable, and sold vegetables and strawberries from her garden at a roadside stand at her home. She was a prayer warrior who devoted her life to her family and passing her strong faith and work ethic to succeeding generations. She was born April 5, 1930, in Russell, Ark., the daughter of the late Ranzy and Hazel Covington. 

She was preceded in death by her husband: R. A. Grayson.

She is survived by five children:  Mitzi (David) Webster, Jim (Elizabeth) Grayson, Betty Jo (Dan) Hall, Mary Catherine (Mike) Yankowsky and Richard (Julia) Grayson; three sisters: Helen Ashby, Eloise (Rudy) Tims and Betty Sue Hayes; 10 grandchildren:  Isaac (Ryan Brockington) Webster, Mark (Jennifer Austin) Webster, Catherine Elizabeth (Jeremy) Neuman, Josh (Trina McDaniel) Grayson, Sam (Kelly Seale) Hall, Meredith (James Bottoms) Hall-Bottoms, Nathan (Jaime Mollerus) Gonzales, Aaron (Deborah) Gonzales, Callista (Iouri) Kostine and Richard Grayson II;  26 great-grandchildren:  Rumi Ann and Xander Brockington Webster; Luke, Noelle, Brett and Rowan Webster; Elizabeth and Everett Neuman; Taylor and Ethan Grayson; Rhett Grayson and Meika; Sean Loney-Hall; Gabrielle, Lydia and Theodore Bottoms; Noah, Levi and Gabe Hall; Cameryn, Isaac, Grant and Zachary Gonzales; Hannah, Sarah and Chase Grayson; and Franklin Kostine; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by a grandson: Luke Grayson; two brothers: Sonny and Carlos Covington; a sister-in-law: Mary Sue Covington; two brothers-in-law: John Frasier Ashby and Donnie Hayes; and an aunt: Loni Paul.    

A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill, followed by a graveside service at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A life celebration luncheon for friends and family will follow. Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church Food Pantry. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
