Bob E. “Big D” Dostal, 70

Bob E. “Big D” Dostal, 70, of Fenton died March 15, 2020. Mr. Dostal was a deputy with the Jefferson County Sherriff’s Department and a machinist. He enjoyed working in his garage, growing tomatoes, cooking for his family, model railroading, Cardinal’s baseball, hunting, playing pool and shooting. He loved his 1976 Harley-Davidson Super Glide, which he called “Whitey,” and he especially loved riding motorcycles and spending time with his family and friends, particularly his grandchildren. He will be remembered for being stubborn, tough and proud, and for being a hard worker, thinker and fixer. Born Nov. 24, 1949, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Robert and Norma (Awalt) Dostal.

He is survived by his wife of almost 40 years: Jackie Ann (Block) Dostal; five children: Bryan (the late Rachel) Dostal, Dale (Mandy) Dostal, Bradley (Holly) Dostal, Stephanie (Will) Wanstreet and Stacey Dostal; three grandchildren: Jaxon, Annie and Leanne; and many other family and friends.

A memorial gathering will be from 3-8 p.m. Friday (May 21) and will resume at 9 a.m. until the funeral services at 10 a.m. Saturday (May 22) at Fieser Funeral Home, 401 Gravois Road, in Fenton. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Cedar Hill. Memorials may be made to the Jefferson County Library Foundation, 5678 Hwy. PP, High Ridge, 63049, or to the Missouri Baptist Healthcare Foundation, c/o Therapy Services, 3015 North Ballas Road, St. Louis, 63131. Arrangements are under the direction of Fieser Funeral Home.
