Bill R. Dobbs, 85, of Festus died Dec. 13, 2017, at de Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis County. Mr. Dobbs was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, a retired laborer and avid golfer with memberships at Pomme Creek and Joachim Golf courses.
Born Jan. 19, 1932, in Greeley, he was the son of the late Elsie (Brooks) and Tom Dobbs. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Elizabeth Jane (Layer) Dobbs.
He is survived by his companion: Linda A. (Crouch) Dobbs of Pevely; one daughter: Carolyn S. (Kevin) Asbridge of Herculaneum; three sons: Ronnie A. Dobbs of Festus, Robert D. (Kathy) Dobbs of Festus and Rory D. (Cindy) Dobbs of St. Charles; two stepchildren: Angela Clifton of Pevely and Anthony Crouch of Canyon Lake, Texas; two sisters: Willadean (the late Gene) Pryor of Ironton and Patty (Bob) Meyer of St. Louis County; one brother: Marvin (the late Retha) Dobbs of Potosi; seven grandchildren: Dusti, Holly, Krystal and Desiree Dobbs, Kayla (Kyle) Thompson, Karissa and Konnor Asbridge; five step-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters: Mildred (the late Paul Barton) Skaggs and Reva (the late Allen) Trollinger; and one brother: Merle Dobbs.
Funeral services were Dec. 15 at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus, officiated by Pastor Jeff Purvis. Burial with full military honors was in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
