Betty P. Pruneau, 90, of Crystal City died July 27, 2022, in Crystal City. Mrs. Pruneau was a Christian and an avid reader. She enjoyed attending school and sporting events, reading, listening to music and spending time with family, including her dogs Kizzy and Tater Bug. Born May 9, 1932, in Herculaneum, she was the daughter of the late Emmett and Gladys Irene (Baker) Horton. She was preceded in death by her husband: William E. Pruneau Sr.
She is survived by four sons: Bill Pruneau of Bloomsdale, Dennis (Carolyn) Pruneau of De Soto, Ernie (Neena) Pruneau of Festus and Eric (Lori) Pruneau of Crystal City; six daughters: Cheryl Eccard of Towson, Md., Jan (Warren) Glaze of Pevely, Karla Carter of Pevely, Karen Hawkes of Festus, Christi Pruneau of St. Louis and Kimberly Braddy of Crystal City; a son-in-law: John Yates; two daughters-in-law: Tammy Pruneau and Jeannie Pruneau; 57 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sons: Terry Pruneau, Rocky Pruneau and Ronnie Pruneau; a daughter: Debra Yates; two daughters-in-law: Debbie Pruneau and Betty Pruneau; a son-in-law: George Hawkes; a brother: Emmett Horton Jr.; and four sisters: Mary Becker, June Caywood, Margaret Arnold, and Dorothy Freeman.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., in Festus. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the Jefferson County Animal Resource Center. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
