Betty L. Whitehead, 72, of De Soto died Aug. 15, 2019, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County. Ms. Whitehead was a homemaker. Born July 30, 1947, in De Soto, she was the daughter of the late Louis Thomas and Hester S. (Vance) Whitehead.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including caregivers Martha Thomas and Elizabeth Whitehead.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Charles Whitehead, Louis Whitehead and Paul Whitehead; and two sisters: Bernice Reynolds and Dorothy Whitehead.
Visitation is scheduled from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor John Piet. Burial is in the Woodlawn Cemetery in De soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
