Betty Jean Labuary, 87, of Festus died Oct. 20, 2017, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Labuary was born Dec. 26, 1929, in Crystal City, the daughter of the late Grace (Lingle) and Remel Delmar “Joe” Gray. She was preceded in death by her husband: Donald Durand Labuary.
She is survived by a daughter: Deborah Otte of Festus; a son: Dale (Suzette) Labuary of Monroe City; a daughter-in-law: Stephany Labuary of California, Mo.; nine grandchildren: Tony (Kim) Labuary, Katie (Seenu) Chemukumilli, Ernie (Lisa) Otte, Jeremy (Jennifer) Otte, Becky Labuary, Kimberly Bihn, Catherine (Donald) Fugate, Justin Shaver and Rachel Burle; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son: Geary Labuary; four sisters: Vivian (the late Raymond) Tucker, Violet (the late Ken) Ward, Carol (the late Robert) Ogle and the infant Bonnie June Gray; and three brothers: Hester (the late Ethel) Howard, Remel (the late Gerry) Gray and Harold (the late Peggy) Gray.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City, officiated by Father Clark Maes. Burial is in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
