Bethel “Fern” Litton, 97, of Festus died April 7, 2020, at Festus Manor Nursing Center. Mrs. Litton was a member of First United Methodist Church in Festus. She enjoyed playing bingo, doing word search puzzles, going trout fishing and spending time with her family. Born Nov. 7, 1922, in Festus, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Daisy (Curtis) and Thomas Cook. She was preceded in death by her husband: George Litton.
She is survived by three daughters: Dorothy (Richard Jr.) Lea of St. Louis, Susan Hedrick of Festus and Nancy (Richard Drysdale) Garn of St. Louis; a son: Martin (Diana) Litton of Festus; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Gail (the late Benny) Hayes; a son-in-law: Michael Hedrick; a brother: Charles (the late Anita) Cook; and a grandson: Howard Hedrick.
Private family graveside services were held. A memorial gathering and service will be held at a later date at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 113 Grand Avenue, Festus, 63028. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
