Audrey L. Vest, 79, of Festus died Sept. 22, 2017, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Vest was a retired English teacher from Windsor and Herculaneum high schools, Jefferson College and the St. Louis College of Pharmacy. She was also a managing editor of the books department at Liguori Publications and was a member of the Catholic Press Association. Born March 16, 1938, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Hazel M. (Walster) and Wyman LaPorte. She is survived by her husband: Patrick E. Vest.
She is also survived by a son: Stephen Vest of Festus.
She was preceded in death by a son: Kent Gregory Vest.
A visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W Main St., in Festus. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Our Lady Catholic Church, 1550 St. Mary’s Lane, in Festus, officiated by Father Jeffery Maassen. Burial will be in Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Herculaneum. Memorials may be made to Masses or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Homes.
