Arthur J. “Art” Yarbrough, 80, of De Soto, died June 1, 2017, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Yarbrough worked as an advertising representative for Roop Printing, the De Soto Press and the Suburban Journals newspapers, was a photographer and photo developer and worked for Smitty’s Home Decorating Center. He was an Eucharistic minister and worked on the cleaning crew at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and helped with events at the Knights of Columbus hall. Born Aug. 23, 1936, in Blackwell, he was the son of the late Thomas William (Edith “Ruby” DeClue) Yarbrough and Ava Mae (DeClue) Yarbrough.

He is survived by his wife: Margaret (Boyer) Yarbrough; four children: Donna Schott of Festus, Bonnie (Calvin) Douglas of Valles Mines, Tom (Shelley) Yarbrough of High Ridge and Mike (Chris) Yarbrough of De Soto; a stepbrother: Marvin (Rosalie) DeClue; eight grandchildren: Matt, Jessica, Austin, Ryan, Levi, Arthur, Jessica and Josh; and eight great-grandchildren: Bailey, Ava, Aiden, Lincoln, Chelby, Peyton, Naomi and Lucas.

He was preceded in death by a brother: Donald (the late Colline) Yarbrough and a sister: Evelene (the late LeRoy) Mercer.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, June 5, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., De Soto. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 504 S. Third St., De Soto, officiated by Father Alexander Anderson officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, De Soto. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
