Anthony Gerald Henson, 77, of De Soto died Jan. 21, 2022, at his home. Mr. Henson worked as a mechanic. He enjoyed working on cars and tractors and taking care of dogs and horses. Born Feb. 2, 1944, in Paragould, Ark., he was the son of the late James and Anna (Mula) Henson.
He is survived by three sons: Jerry (Jamie) Henson of Fults, Ill., Jeff Henson of De Soto and David (Tracy) Henson of Highland, Ill.; a daughter: Angie (Randy) O’Neail of Valles Mines; a brother: Larry (Lana) Henson of Paragould, Ark.; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: James (Bertha) Henson and Ed (Shirley) Henson; and three sisters: Naomi Thurmann, Mary (Bob) Newell, and Faye Cummings.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until a memorial service at noon Monday, Feb. 7, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N Main St., De Soto, officiated by Caleb Singleton. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to COPD Foundation, 3300 Ponce de Leon Blvd, Miami, Fla., 33134.
