Anneliese Gerda Poeppel, 99, Arnold
Anneliese Gerda Poeppel, 99, of Arnold died Jan. 6, 2020, at Woodland Manor Nursing Center in Arnold. After losing family and friends to bombing raids in World War II, Mrs. Poeppel and her husband moved to St. Louis in 1952. They built a house in Arnold in 1954 and spent the rest of their lives there. She was born Feb. 23, 1920, in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Conrad.
She is survived by three children: Christa (Lonnie) Welker of Imperial, Margie (Mike) Thornton of Owensville and Linda (John) Tramel of Arnold; seven grandchildren: Ray (Mandi) Wendt of Owensville, Alicia (Mike) Mirabelli of Singapore, Melanie Thornton of Aurora, Ill., Joshua (Michelle) Welker of San Antonio, Texas, Sarah (Andrew) Beard of Dallas, Texas, Paul (Kori) Tramel of Imperial and Sam Tramel of Arnold; 12 great-grandchildren: Arron (Brooke) and Ava Tornetto of Honolulu, Hunter Wendt and Tanner Lutheran of Virginia Beach, Mike and Ella Mirabelli of Singapore, Tyler Thornton of Aurora, Ill., Fred, Charlie and Eden Welker of San Antonio, Foster and Keating Beard of Dallas; and numerous family members and friends in Germany.
An angel walk was held at Woodland Manor Nursing Home in Arnold.
