Anna Marie Rumping, 84, of High Ridge, formerly of Arnold, died Oct. 12, 2022, at de Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis County. Mrs. Rumping will be remembered for her infectious smile and her willingness to meet the needs of those she loved. Born Jan. 14, 1938, in St. Louis, she was one of 12 children and the only daughter of the late Rose (Vorholt) and Leopold Deters. She was preceded in death by her husband: William A Rumping, whom she married on May 14, 1957, and who died on April 28, 2014.
She is survived by three sons: Thomas (MeiLing) Rumping of Cincinnati, Ohio, David (Jane) Rumping of Festus and William P. (Lori) Rumping of High Ridge; a daughter: Carol (Andrew) Reinitz of St. Louis; two daughters-in-law: Colleen Rumping and Lisa Rumping, both of St. Louis; 15 grandchildren: Sarah (Devin) McCoskey, Caleb, Hannah, Noah, Justin (Kayla), Kaitlyn, Luke, Erin, Frank, Matthew and Taylor Rumping, Austin (Leslie Gregory) and Connor Evans, August (Kristin) Reinitz and Raechel (Nick) Cantoni; two brothers: Elmer Deters and Harold (CJ) Deters; and a sister-in-law: Mary Ann Haberberger.
She was preceded in death by two sons: Donald and Michael Rumping; a granddaughter; nine brothers; and numerous siblings-in-law.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, at Kutis Funeral Home, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road in south St. Louis County. A funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, at St. David’s Church in Arnold, officiated by the Rev. Charles Ferrara. Burial is in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to any animal rescue agency, especially cat rescue; to Cancer Free Kids at www.cancerfreekids.org; or to St. Jude’s Research Hospital for Children. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home.
