Alvin E. Northcutt Sr., 81, of De Soto died Nov. 15, 2016, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis County. Mr. Northcutt was a member of Carpenters Local 2214 and worked at C.E. Lane Construction. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church in De Soto. Born Aug. 17, 1935, in Richwoods, he was the son of the late Theodore Samuel “Sam” and Gertha (Missey) Northcutt.
He is survived by his wife: Paulette (Whitener) Northcutt of De Soto; two children: Alvin “Corky” (Joyce) Northcutt Jr. and Kenny (Kris) Northcutt, both of De Soto; two stepdaughters: Linda Ames of De Soto and Gail Ames of Fenton; a stepson: Michael (Donna) Ames of O’Fallon; two siblings: Judy (Kevin) Whitfield of Eddysville, Ky., and Lester “Runt” Northcutt of Richwoods; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary (Chapman) Northcutt; a daughter, Brenda Howell; a stepdaughter, Carol Ann Ames; and three sisters: Ethel (Malcolm) McEwen, Norma Lee (George) Smith and Ruth Ann (Harvey) Conner.
Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at St. Rose of Lima Church in De Soto, officiated by Father Alexander Anderson. Burial is in the Calvary Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to Birthright or St. Rose of Lima Adopt-an-Angel. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
