Hudman, Alton

Alton Earl Hudman, 78, of Hillsboro died Dec. 19, 2019, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Hudman worked in construction. He enjoyed fishing, gambling, horses and spending time with family, serving as primary caretaker for his son during the latter part of his life. Born Aug. 2, 1941, in Arkadelphia, Ark., he was the son of the late Earl M. and Odie Bell (Malcolm) Hudman.

He is survived by his wife: Kim (Price) Hudman; five sons: Randy L. Hudman of Hillsboro, Alton “Dale” (Angela) Hudman of Hillsboro, Shane M. Hudman of Dallas, Texas, Kevin Hudman of Virginia Beach, Va., and Jason Hudman of Hillsboro; two daughters: Rhonda (Bobby) Dearing of Herculaneum and Ashley Hudman of Virginia Beach, Va.; a brother: Sonny (Cricket) Hudman of Arkadelphia, Ark., two sisters: Alice (Sonny) Hurt of Hope, Ariz., and Sue (Gerald) Bentley of Helena, Ark.; his first wife and friend: Sharon (Mark) Wright; a sister-in-law: Jean Hudman; a special nephew: Mark Mitchell of Indianapolis, Ind.; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by a son: Donald E. Hudman; six brothers: Vernon, George, Harold, Jimmy Carrol, Doyle Ray and David W. Hudman; three sisters: Mary Moore, Dorothy Gentry and Doris Martin; and three brothers-in-law: Jesa Moore, Gerald Gentry and Doc Martin.

Visitation is at 11 a.m. and a funeral service will follow at 1p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Dr., in Festus. Graveside ceremony is scheduled for  10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at Harts Chapel Cemetery in Curtis, Ark. Memorials may be made to the family for the care of Mr. Hudman’s son. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
